Who We Serve

We will serve children, youth, and families in rural and underdeveloped areas of Timor-Leste, where food insecurity and lack of access to quality education are most severe. Our primary focus will be on:

• Children aged 6–14 who are at risk of dropping out or attending school without proper nutrition or materials

• Adolescents and young adults who lack access to skills training or high school education

• Low-income families who cannot consistently afford school fees, transport, or daily meals

• Schools that are underfunded, poorly resourced, or too far for students to reach easily

These communities often face compounding challenges: no school meals, long travel distances by foot, limited access to teaching staff, and no safe or practical alternatives. We prioritise regions where the need is greatest – rural districts with high malnutrition and low literacy rates – and where our interventions can have the most meaningful and lasting impact.

Our Solution

School meals ensure children are nourished, focused, and motivated to attend school.

These meals will be sourced locally wherever possible, supporting nearby farmers and building community resilience.

Improve school infrastructure by funding essential resources, supplying learning materials, and working with local leaders to train and support teachers.

Our aim is to create safe, welcoming spaces where children can truly thrive.

Adult learning and skills training will give parents and young adults access to literacy and job-readiness.

This will help families lift themselves out of poverty with greater confidence and dignity.

Remove transport barriers by supplying bicycles and establishing school transport services, so no child has to walk for hours just to reach a classroom.

Establish food banks and coordinate deliveries for families who are unable to access or afford regular meals, particularly during school holidays or times of crisis.
